Molten originates from the Nether. Items crafted using Molten have high damage and durability, and typically relate with fire in some way. Molten Tools will catch enemies on fire on hit, and Molten Armor provides benefits involving lava, fire, and the Nether.

Molten Ore

Molten Ore is found deep in the Nether, between Y-values 0 and 48. The generation method is triangular - this means a higher concentration of ores will be in the middle, at Y-24. Each vein typically consists of around 6-8 ores in a square placement. Most will appear in a 2x2 cubical shape.

It will never generate next to air blocks. This means it is necessary to mine or search under lava. If players are searching for Ancient Debris, the same mining techniques will also work for Molten as they are in the same general area. Another technique is to stock up on Fire Resistance potions and swim through lava lakes, as it is often easily visible under the surface.

Molten Ingot

Ingots can be crafted from shards or smelted directly from ore.

It is also possible to use these as furnace fuel. Additionally, they are used exclusively as fuel for the Tesla Synthesizer.

Upon acquiring two Molten Ingots, it is often ideal to craft a pair of Lava Goggles, to make it easier to find more ore.
