Molten tools are formed from a dense lava, granting them not only high damage and durability, but the ability to catch enemies on fire without needing a Fire Aspect enchantment.

Molten can be considered an alternative to the vanilla Netherite tier. Both are found deep in the Nether and with similar rarities. However, Molten Tools have a higher damage while having a durability approximately 6.6% lower than Netherite.

When striking an enemy, fire will be inflicted for ten seconds. This is two seconds longer than what is possible with the Fire Aspect II enchantment, which lasts for eight seconds. It is possible to add Fire Aspect enchantments to Molten tools, however it has no effect.

As it is a Netherite-tier tool, it is able to break Astral and Starstorm materials.
